UAlg remains among the best young universities in the world
The University of Algarve appears for the sixth time in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings, which analyzes the performance of higher education institutions created 50 years or less ago. In this edition 10 Portuguese higher education institutions participate, and of these, only 9 are part of this ranking, where UAlg maintains the highlight in the indicator that evaluates the international projection.
THE's list only indicates the exact place of the institutions up to the 100th position, from which they are classified by intervals, without hierarchy.
In this increasingly competitive ranking, UAlg is classified between positions 301 and 350. This is the 12th year of publication of this evaluation by THE, which in this edition sees an increase in the number of institutions (605), compared to 2022 (539), and territories, from 74 last year to 78 in 2023. Another 358 institutions are still listed with the status of "Reporter", which means that they provided data, but did not meet the eligibility criteria to receive a rating.
The 13 indicators evaluated are the same used in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and are organised around five major areas: the quality of teaching and research, the citations of scientific articles produced, its relationship with industry or its international projection.
