Entrepreneur, Co-Founder of 929 Challenge, and Director of Macau Spin Incubator (USJ University Incubator).
Marco has vast international business development experience across Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Lived in Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Spain, Brazil, and Macau. Past experience includes Solutions sales in Financial Technology: Driven Data and Trading Platforms for Financial Analysis within Equities, Bonds, Foreign Exchange, Money Markets, Commodities & Energy, ESG. Before coming to Macau marco was Head of Sales and New Business in Thomson Reuters Brazil.
Since early 2016, moved from a corporate environment to the world of start-ups. Marco is an active member of the Macau Startup Ecosystem and a Startup founder. He is also a Guestlecturer at City University of Macau. Actual president of the Association for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Macau, China and Portuguese Speaking Countries. Work Interests in Innovation, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Intrapreneurship, Foresight, Business Development, and Sustainability, among others.

AIA - Artificial Intelligence Algarve

In this talk, Tom Murphy will presume you know nothing about AI, specifically Neural Networks (the tech behind most AI today). Without delving into the maths or tech behind them, he will explain in simple English how AI works.
We'll discuss the theory, the practise and the problems with AI.
By the end you should have a good understanding of Neural Networks and why they need so much power, data and how they are built, used and abused.

Tom Murphy founded Machine Learning Programs in 2018 and quickly built it into an award winning AI specialist company which was acquired by the UK's largest data broker OpenGI in 2019. He remained CEO for 2 years, stepping back to the CTO position for 2 more before finally retiring to the Algarve in 2023. Specialising in Neural Networks he has given talks across Europe on AI, its uses, implementation, ethics and bias.

Capacitar Profissionais para a Era Digital

FARO:  14 de fevereiro de 2025, na Universidade do Algarve, Campus da Penha, a partir das 9h00. Em parceria com a Universidade do Algarve.

O IMPULSO IA é uma iniciativa da APDC, em parceria com a Google, que visa capacitar profissionais de diversos setores para a utilização da Inteligência Artificial (IA) no seu dia a dia, aumentando a produtividade e facilitando a adaptação à era digital.

Com uma combinação de sessões presenciais e online, o IMPULSO IA oferece, gratuitamente, uma experiência acessível e inclusiva, sem necessidade de experiência prévia em IA. O objetivo é proporcionar as ferramentas necessárias para que os profissionais utilizem a IA de forma eficaz e estratégica no local de trabalho.

O IMPULSO IA decorrerá de outubro de 2024 a março de 2025, com sessões em várias localizações pelo país. Cada curso terá a duração de 2 horas e será ministrado por formadores especializados. Os participantes que frequentarem as sessões presenciais terão direito a um certificado de participação.

Neste encontro interativo, conduzido por Nuno Marques e Tiago Matos, vamos explorar as principais oportunidades de financiamento 2020-2030 e os incentivos disponíveis para as empresas.
